Pinealon (also known as the EDR peptide, from its three amino acids Glutamic acid, Aspartic acid, Arginine) is a synthetic tripeptide developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinsky at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, classified as a geroprotector — a compound designed to slow age-related biological decline. It is one of the smallest known neuroprotective peptides, with a molecular weight of 418.4 g/mol that allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier via the PEPT2 transporter system. Pinealon's primary mechanism is epigenetic gene regulation: it directly influences the expression of genes involved in neurogenesis, memory formation, and circadian rhythm by entering cell nuclei and modulating transcription factor activity.
