Thymulin (FTS): 5mg

Immunity

Description

Thymulin (also known as facteur thymique serique, fts, or serum thymic factor) is a naturally occurring thymic nonapeptide hormone that requires zinc chelation for biological activity — inactive zinc-free thymulin circulates in serum and becomes active only when zinc binds to complete the bioactive complex. thymulin was first isolated from thymic extracts by bach and dardenne in 1972. its primary mechanism is the induction and differentiation of t-lymphocytes: thymulin binds specific receptors on t-cell precursors (thymocytes) and drives their maturation into functional t-helper (cd4+) and t-cytotoxic (cd8+) cells with restored functional capacity. secondary mechanisms include normalization of nk cell activity, regulation of thyroid-thymus cross-signaling, and anti-inflammatory cytokine modulation. thymulin levels are measurably low in individuals with zinc deficiency, explaining the immune suppression associated with zinc deficiency states. thymulin is distinct from thymalin (a full thymic extract bioregulator from khavinsky's group containing multiple peptide fractions) and from ta-1 (thymosin alpha-1, which activates t-cells more acutely). thymulin addresses thymic t-cell education specifically — the earliest step in adaptive immune competence — while thymalin provides broader thymic bioregulation. zinc sufficiency is required for activity; supplement with 30-50mg zinc daily during thymulin research cycles. for research and educational purposes only.

Specifications
