TGA Active Enforcement (August 4, 2026): TGA officers and NSW Police executed search warrants at two residential properties in New South Wales on August 4, 2026, seizing more than $120,000 worth of illicit peptide and anabolic steroid products. The properties were linked to a social media influencer who had previously been warned by the TGA for importing, relabelling, advertising, and supplying unapproved peptide products — a pattern of supply-side enforcement now escalating beyond warnings to physical raids. Europol Operation SHIELD VI (February 2026): Between April and November 2025, Europol coordinated Operation SHIELD VI — an international pharmaceutical crime enforcement operation across 30 countries resulting in 3,354 individuals prosecuted and €33 million (approx. $38.6M) in counterfeit medicines and illegal supplements seized, including peptides, doping agents, and anabolic compounds. INTERPOL Operation Pangea XVIII (March–May 2026): Between March 10 and 23, 2026, INTERPOL coordinated Operation Pangea XVIII across 90 countries and territories, targeting illicit pharmaceutical supply chains including online sellers of falsified medicines and unapproved injectables. In the UK alone, over two million doses of illicit medicines valued at £4.6 million were seized at the border. Swissmedic / Basel-Landschaft Pratteln Seizure (October 7, 2026): On October 7, 2026, the Basel-Landschaft public prosecutor's office announced a criminal investigation after a September 2026 house search in Pratteln, Switzerland, seized more than 3,200 injection vials of illegally imported peptides plus syringes, packaging materials, and labels — described as the largest seizure of illegally imported peptides in Switzerland to date. Two individuals are under investigation for alleged violations of the Sport Promotion Act and the Therapeutic Products Act; the presumption of innocence applies. The case is linked to the June 22, 2026 cross-agency “Peptides 2026” campaign by Swissmedic, the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG/FOCBS), and Swiss Sport Integrity (SSI), which inspected 46 packages of dubious peptide preparations (23 retained). Victoria Coroner — Richard Norton findings (October 28, 2026): Victorian Coroner David Ryan found that the March 2025 death of Australian actor/martial artist Richard Norton (75) was triggered by injection of unapproved peptide products CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin that had been prescribed by a doctor and compounded by a licensed Queensland pharmacy. Norton had taken amounts in excess of the prescribed dose; the coroner linked anaphylaxis and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest complications to the injection. The coroner recommended that Australia's TGA review therapeutic benefits and safety risks of peptides such as CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin and consider further restrictions, including whether Schedule 4 prescription availability remains appropriate (with Schedule 10 clinical-trial-only status discussed in reporting). Believed reported as Australia's first confirmed fatality linked to unapproved peptide use.
